Chris Pirillo has made a nice tutorial that tell you how you can share Word,  Excel, PDF and other files on Twitter. All you need to do is upload your file to FileSocial, and log in with your Twitter credentials. Your file is then shared with all of your contacts on Twitter.

When you upload a file, you can include a brief comment or description and a tweet will automatically appear in your Twitter account. Anyone can see, comment on and even download that file through that link.

Prevent ctfmon.exe from auto starting in windows

When you run a Microsoft Office XP program, the file Ctfmon.exe (Ctfmon) runs in the background, even after you quit all Office programs. Ctfmon.exe monitors the active windows and provides text input service support for speech recognition, handwriting recognition, keyboard, translation, and other alternative user input technologies.

CTFMON.EXE , among other things, is responsible for changing the language schema of your keyboard (e.g. for switching between the German and English keyboard layout).
In case you are using this feature you shouldn’t remove or disable the CTFMON.EXE!

In order to prevent it from auto starting in Windows, simple use the following program and prevent the hassle of logging in Safe mode and then disabling it.

Indian publishers now get Adsense cheques from BlueDart for Free

A great news for all the Indian Adsense users! Indian publishers will now receive Adsense cheque via BlueDart. Few days back Google Adsense removed the Express delivery options for Indian publishers. The only option which is left is Standard delivery which will be done by BlueDart.
For express delivery (secure delivery) adsense used to deduct 25$ from publisher earning.

From Google Adsense help:

AdSense publishers in India will receive standard delivery checks mailed via the local courier service Blue Dart for no additional charge. Checks mailed by Blue Dart should arrive within 10-30 days of the check date.

Tracking numbers may be available for Blue Dart payments. You can check to see if one is available by by clicking any Payment link in your Payment History page. Blue Dart tracking numbers will typically be visible by the 15th of any month and can be tracked on BlueDart's website.

IT pros prefer Windows XP over new Windows 7

Cautious business IT administrators are more willing to stay with the devil they know, Windows XP, than risk the devil they don't, even if the latter is the highly touted Windows 7, a research company said Monday.

According to Dimensional Research, which surveyed more than 1,100 IT professionals in March, 72 percent of those polled said that they are more concerned about the cost and overhead of migrating to Windows 7 than they are about continuing to support the 8-year-old Windows XP. Only 28 percent felt the opposite, that they're more worried about holding XP's hand than migrating to Windows 7.

Dimensional's survey was conducted for KACE Networks, a systems management appliance maker based in Mountain View, Calif. The report can be viewed at KACE website.

Gmail can now find if your friends are sleeping or awake

Gmail Labs has introduced a new feature called Sender Time Zone that can tell if the receiver of your mail might be sleeping or is awake.

How To Turn On the Sender Time Zone Lab Feature?

• Open Gmail and click on the settings link. Then click on the labs tab.
• Once in the labs, scroll down to find the Sender Time Zone feature. Enable it and save the settings.

Once this feature is enabled, you’ll notice green phone icons next to your contacts who are awake (that is, it is between 9 AM and 6 PM in their time zone) and red phone icons in front of those contacts who are probably sleeping.

How it Works?

Every email message contains a header which contains all the information about the sender and the receiver, like IP addresses, time zone information etc. Gmail uses the time zone information from these headers to display these icons

How to enable and disable Hibernate in Windows Vista

Sometime people find it hard to enable and disable the Hibernate feature in Windows Vista because it is not same as in windows XP. Here is a small DOS code that will easy up your job.

Open Run
Type “CMD” without quotes.
Type
powercfg /hibernate on   : This will enable the hibernate option

How to Disable Hibernate option in Vista?

Disabling Hibernate option in vista is again the same. Follow the above procedure and Use” “Off” instead of “On”.

What is RT (retweeting)?

I have quite recently joined Twitter and just gathering some knowledge about using it these days. Here is one of the basic term of it, explained for the beginners:

"RT" or "retweeting" is simply taking a twitter post from someone else and forwarding (rebroadcasting) it to your followers. Here are a few common ways to retweet a message (all do the same thing):

Add Twitter button in FeedDemon 3

By default, FeedDemon does not allow you to send links to Twitter but with this simple hack you can increase the functionality of FeedDemon 3 by adding Twitter button in it.


Open the "SendTo" folder present inside the default installation folder of FeedDemon 3:
C:\Program Files\FeedDemon\Data\SendTo

Create a new file "twitter.xml" in this folder and copy-paste the following text inside this file:

  template="http://twitter.com/home?status=Reading {title} {url}" />

Now restart FeedDemon and you’ll see a new "Twitter" option under the Send to menu.
